The only thing James Bond loves more than a martini

The classiest champagne on the planet is surprisingly affordable (and we’ve got a few bottles)

Welcome! 👋

James Bond was my hero growing up.

No one does style, class, and sophistication better.

Or at least that was my take on things as a young lad.

Much to my mother’s chagrin, I made more than a few decisions growing up by asking myself, “what would Bond do?”

Dorky, I know but then again, I was that kind of kid.

Still am.

Especially when it comes to champagne.

Let me explain.

James Bond is perhaps best known for his catchphrase, “shaken not stirred” and drinking martinis these days, but back in the day he preferred champagne.

Dom Pérignon, specifically.

Bond drank the ‘46 in Moonraker, the ‘55 in Dr. No, more ‘53 in Goldfinger, ‘59 in You Only Live Twice and even a ‘64 in the Man with the Golden Gun.

I remember my first sip like it was yesterday.

Aromas of vanilla and cream, with a faint hint of spice.

My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

There’s a reason why Dom Pérignon is the King of Champagne.

Every bottle goes through an extended ageing process, minimum of 7 years, but typically closer to 9 years before the first release.

There are often second and third releases after 18 and 25 years of ageing, respectively, offering a richer and more complex flavour profile.

Not only is it the perfect time of year to get your hands on a bottle, but the Champagne market is on fire right now.

After 2023's shipments declined by 8%, value sales reached a record high of €6.4 billion, beating the previous record of €5.05 billion in 2019.

This increase in sales value is driven by pricing strategies and a shift towards premium products.

In the recent Liv-Ex secondary wine market report, Champagne performed exceptionally well, capturing 17.2% of the trade, an increase from the previous week's 12.8%.

Dom Pérignon 2013 stood out not only as a top-traded wine but also as the most-traded wine in 2023.

I’ve got some good news.

Collectors have been calling us all week to get their hands on one.

Contact us if you’d like us to reserve a bottle for you, or register your interest here.

As usual, thanks for reading.

I’m so glad you’re here.

P.S  Remember to drink your bubbly at the right temperature. As Bond famously said, “there are some things that just aren't done, such as drinking Dom Perignon '53 above the temperature of 38 degrees Fahrenheit. That's as bad as listening to the Beatles without earmuffs!”
