Drinking Whiskey Like This Changes Everything
And I can guarantee you’ve probably never tried it this way before
Welcome! 👋
What’s your favourite way to enjoy whisky?
Neat?
On the rocks?
Accompanied by a cigar?
Like many, I used to only enjoy whisky on its own – neat - until I met Mark Sutherland - CEO of Stone Ledge Distillery.
He said his favourite way to enjoy whiskey is with Terry’s Chocolate Orange.
I laughed out loud at first but me being me, I decided to give it a go.
He’s absolutely right!
But Terry’s doesn’t go with just any whisky.
You've got to pair it with a whisky that has an incredibly smooth finish.
Something like Ozark Highlands’ Stowloch “Holy Water.”
Now, I’m not exaggerating when I say this, but Stowloch may be the finest whiskey I have ever tasted from north America. I’ll even go so far as to say Stowloch changes everything.
The mash build and long fermentation give Stowloch a hint of sweetness and the smoothest finish I’ve ever encountered.
And I’m not the only one that thinks so.
Stowloch recently won Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), which is the largest and most prestigious spirits competition in the world.
It’s a pre-prohibition recipe, brought to the Americas in 1761 and uses traditional distilling with forged Missouri copper, making Stowloch higher than high end.
Imagine that level of quality paired with one of your old school favourites?
Well, you don't have to imagine, here's a delicious recipe for you.
And don't forget to order your Terry’s Chocolate Orange so you can try it this weekend!
I promise you won’t be disappointed.
You can call us to one of our team if you’d like to know more on +44 (0)20 846 3366, or if you are in London you could pop into Oeno House to try it yourself.
As usual, thanks for reading.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Cheers,
Michael Doerr
Founder & CEO, Oeno Group
P.S. You know what’s weird? Both Terry’s and Stowloch’s recipes were born in the 1760s! Cheers to culinary classics that stand the test of time!😊
